Emma Calderone
Emma Calderone, owner of Be Strong Physiotherapy Inc. is a Canadian educated Physiotherapist with 17 years of experience in the field. Emma’s interest for physiotherapy was established early in life. Be Strong Physiotherapy was inspired by her experience as both a two-sport university (Varsity Rowing and Track and Field) and professional athlete (Golf).
Emma completed a Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in Biomechanics, the study of mechanical laws of human movement. Following this, Emma graduated from the University of Toronto’s Department of Physical Therapy.
Initially, Emma worked in a trauma center and then focused on pediatrics, based upon her training at Sick Kids. Following that, she continued to train in California and subsequently ran a horseback riding program for children with Cerebral Palsy.
As an athlete, Emma played on multiple amateur golf tours in the United States, winning 13 titles. She then turned pro and competed in professional tournaments across Canada and the U.S. As a professional athlete, Emma trained with NHL players, professional soccer and tennis players, and Olympic level track and field athletes.
Emma retired from professional competition and focused on Orthopedic Physiotherapy. While working in an outpatient Physiotherapy clinic in an emergency room, she was also a Clinical Instructor at the largest university in the United States, the University of Central Florida, as well as Florida’s Herzing College.
